As the chairman of the institute, there are 3 simple messages which I would like to pass on to our students and Cambodian youths: 

Have a Dream: Just as every student has a unique personality, I believe each student should also have a unique dream in their heart. This is the driving force that gets you up in the morning, gives you the willpower and the courage to take on new challenges which await you in the future. 

Don’t be afraid of failure: In the history of humanity, all great men and women have failed many times before achieving success. It is often said, “Fail early, fail often”. There is never a need to feel guilty of failure, instead it is giving you hints to “What doesn’t work” and you can take those lessons to improve anything that you aspire to. 

Don’t give up: When going through life challenges, you may face times in which you feel like giving up. It is often said, “Success is going from failure to failure without losing enthusiasm”. This concept can be grasped by remembering the miracle that you have been put on this earth in the first place, which will give you the everlasting enthusiasm to think that all failure is just part of the game. 

It is also important to hold gratitude to your parents and everyone who has supported you up to this point in your academic life. As the chairman, my goal is to continuously support the friendship between Japan and Cambodia, which will pave the way to a brighter future. 

Finally, I would like to thank the government of Cambodia, President Sokly, Advisors, local and international partners, researchers, innovators, faculty members and all of the staffs who made it possible to establish TGI and make TGI a nation-wide institute which is internationally recognized to bring prosperity to Cambodia and Asia as a whole.
